We don't give up we....

Team Up!

This is it, the challenge we've all been waiting for. With excitement, nervousness, sheer unadulterated terror, and with happiness. We've come this far, we have just a little further to go.

You know how when you're running up a hill and the last 10% to the top seems so hard, like you've got cinder blocks tied to your shoes and you just can't lift your feet up any more? You want to give up, but you can see the top, and you know the hill gets easier after you get there. Well I think that this weekend is like that last bit of the hill. Sure it will be hard. Some of us may want to give up. There might be tears. There will be lots of sweat. Let's hope for no blood. Or other yucky stuff (let's try not to use the buckets!!) We can see the top but we're just not quite there yet.

As Tom said earlier, there is no other group of people that I can imagine doing this with. We've endured rain, cold, wind, and mud together. You guys are all so special to me, each of you, individually. Today when driving around looking for the last two items on my list, I saw Attiphah and Alyah walking together along Gerrard -- I smiled and got ready to wave, but they didn't see me. Still smiling I continued on my errands. In another while I saw Alex, walking along the street in front of Loblaws with his dad. And I smiled. I do that a lot when I think of my teammates. As I took off all my jewellery this morning and laid it aside, it was like a little ritual for turning into an individual part of this team. My wedding rings I leave at home. David is my teammate. My watch I got just after Sarah was born I leave at home. Sarah is my teammate.

I won't say I'm not nervous -- butterflies have taken up residence in my stomach. I won't say this will be a piece of cake, cause it won't be. But I will say this -- we are a team and we won't give up. We'll TEAM UP!!
